‘And Glory Shone Around’ is a celebration of early American Christmas music by the renowned Rose Ensemble of the Twin Cities.  The concert features music from colonial America, Appalachian and Acadian folk songs, Shaker hymns and California mission music. Join Theater of the Month for the Mixed Blood Theater’s “Two Queens and a Castle.” Steele’s story uses gospel, R&B, jazz and pop to explore the tumult of a catapulting career, motherhood, extended family, church and a marriage to a gay man. It is a story of deception, love, revelation, and hope. Sunday, Sept. 30, 3:00 pm  at the Music Box Theater, Tickets- $22/adult, $18/student or senior. Sign up and payment deadline Sept. 9.

Theater of the Month: Boats on a River – Fri. 6/8

Deadline for RSVP and payment for Boats on a River at the Guthrie Theater is  Sunday, May 20th.  This show is Friday, June 8th at 7:30 pm.  Cost is $29 or $24 for students.  This show is probably not appropriate for children.  Come along and check out  the new Guthrie space. Apr. 26th Arabian Nights.  $8-12 at UMN Rarig Center  “Follows the tale of a new Queen’s tale of marriage to a Persian king who’s known to marry a new woman only to have her executed the following dawn To stay alive, she spends hours telling elaborate tales and stories to the king ending in a cliffhanger she must conclude the following day. She continues this for 1,001 nights weaving folklore until the king is forced to make a decision that could change his outlook on women forever.” Deadline for sign up is Apr. 1st.
