SG Hosting is looking for groups or individuals who are willing to be one of our "Host Teams" at Spirit Garage. As a Host Team, you have an opportunity to welcome our guests and members, bring and serve our amazing coffee and refreshments, and help with some of the logistics of our worship services (passing out menus, helping with communion, etc).

SG Contact Sheet

     Good Morning Everybody,

We were talking at Sunrise breakfast on Sunday about building an email contact sheet for the group. It would be an easy way for us to reach each other during the week, and of course, inclusion to the list would be voluntary. It's a lot easier than asking everybody for their email address.

We do this with my Scrabble Club. If one of us has an interesting anagram or word list that we want to share with the other members of the club, we just send an email to the main mailbox, and everybody gets it.

I'm a University of MN student who has been assigned to profile someone for a journalsim class.

I live near the theater garage and have been interested in the Sunday meetings of the Spirit Garage so I thought this assignment would be a good oportunity to meet the pastor of the Spirit Garage.

I would like to know what members of the church have to say about Pastor Rob Norris-Weber.

Minneapolis boys shot during armed robbery

Please prayer for these two teenage boys who are the next two victims on this senseless violence in our city. May God's healing hands be upon them.
Peace, Carl

Minneapolis boys shot during armed robbery Minneapolis police were on the hunt this morning for suspects in an apparent armed robbery that led to the shooting of two juvenile males Sunday night in Minneapolis. The boys, who were not identified, were taken to North Memorial Hospital with injuries that police would not disclose, according to media reports. The shooting occurred about 10 p.m., at the corner of 26th St. and Knox Av. near the Big Stop convenience store in north Minneapolis. The boys were found separately a few blocks from the shooting scene. Police said the boys split up and ran after they were shot. Minneapolis police Lt. Brad Sporny told reporters at the scene that robbery was the apparent motive. "But this is very early in the investigation," he said.

Is this web site new?

I was so excited to have on-line access to a community of Christians in Minneapolis. However, I have noticed that it is used very little. I am going to try the bethlehem Lutheran Church website to see if there is a forum there. It s just too long and discouraging to wait 22 weeks for replies on certain subjects. I have a hunch that Bethlehem's members use this type of thing

How to get html tags to work, or... how do I put a line break in my post?

Um, so I finally figured it out. I was going nuts trying to include some of the tags that are listed below as "Allowed HTML tags" but they just keep showing up in my document as body text without really being used by the page to format my post. I just wanted to put a break in to separate a couple of lines from the rest of the post.

Like that.

If you want to use HTML tags, you have to disable rich text by clicking disable rich text below here. Otherwise the WYSIWYG editor just makes your tags into body text that show up in your post. Like this <br> <p> </p>

Search box doesn't exactly work

The little search box in the upper right corner of the screen doesn't actually seem to search the text I enter. It just brings me to another screen where I have to type it in again to search. I don't think this is working correctly. Any ideas?

who makes up SG!

Hello everybody. I have no idea if I'm posting this in an appropriate place, but here it goes anyway! I'm a student at Luther Seminary and am in a class called Reading the Audiences. As part of this class, we get the chance to study a church of our choice--study the demographics of the surrounding community as well as the SG attendees, learn what brought you to SG and what keeps you there, learn about your visions for SG, etc. Our group had a booth last Sunday and handed out surveys for you to fill out. Thanks to those of you who did that! My question to you is this: we need to talk with some of you who attend regularly and are pretty involved. We also need to talk with some of you who attend pretty regularly but aren't involved beyond Sunday worship. Basically, anyone who would be up for chatting with us about SG, we would SO VERY MUCH appreciate it! The more we can learn from you, the better we can put together what we've learned to give SG some info that might be helpful for continuing to vision your future. If you are interested and able to sit down with one or two of us from my group, please email me at dawnfuglestad@hotmail.com and we can work out details of time and location. Peace--Dawn Fuglestad

Great online signup sheet

This may not be the right thread for this, but...

I found a very nice little web site that will let you post a signup sheet for people to volunteer to fill certain roles (www.mysignup.com). This has worked well for Theology Pub to do signups for hosting on Sunday morning. It's very cool because I don't have to send an email out to everyone and then have to track who signed up for the same things and re-contact the four people who signed up for one task to ask who could do something different instead. Sigh.
