Souper Bowl Sunday - Sun. 2/7

Submitted by Rob on January 20, 2010 - 4:07pm.

Souper Bowl Sunday is truly reason to celebrate. Before many of us gather with way too many munchies to watch overgrown, overpaid, over(fill-in-the-blank) boys play the Super Bowl, come to worship on Sunday, February 7 and take part in a Souper Bowl that makes a difference. The 2009 Spirit Garage Fantasy Football League will be making soup hoping you’ll consider making a donation. This years charity of choice will be chosen by Jay Davis with the winning team Wildfan. Congrats Jay for being the 2009 Spirit Garage Fantasy Football Champion. Let’s help him celebrate by joining in on the festivities of Souper Bowl Sunday. You’re invited to bring a soup to share, or simply come and enjoy! Cups and Spoons will be available or bring your own.

  • Start: 7 Feb 2010 - 10:20am

Be Part of the Earth Day Street Team

Submitted by john6481 on February 8, 2009 - 4:37pm.

Help plan the Earth Day Clean Up at Loring Park!

The Minneapolis Earth Day Watershed Clean up is an annual event sponsored jointly by the Minneapolis Parks Board, the City of Minneapolis, and local park coordinators.  Earth Day provides both a volunteer experience and environmental education to Minneapolis residents and park users who participate in the event.  The annual event involves cleaning up the major watersheds and parks in the City of Minneapolis.

It will be a neighborhood effort with volunteers from local residents, neighborhood groups, businesses and churches to help clean the largest park in the Central Minneapolis community.  Spirit Garage is serving as the site coordinators for the Loring Park and we would LOVE your help.

We will need several types of volunteers including:

  • Street team members to hand out flyers to businesses, condo associations, and churches;
  • Phone and email team members to connect with local businesses & resident groups;
  • Site coordinators to sign people up and distribute clean up materials;
  • And much more!

If you are interested in helping plan this important event, please contact Bo Johnston at bo.johnston@gmail.com or look for him at Spirit Garage.  We will have a planning meeting on Sunday, March 1st at the Dunn Brothers - Loring Park after the SG service.

  • Location: Dunn Brothers - Loring Park
  • Start: 1 Mar 2009 - 12:00pm
  • Stop: 1 Mar 2009 - 1:00pm
