WICKED GAME is an incredibly powerful art show opening up at Gethsemene Lutheran Church this weekend. The show explores the topic of hate crimes in Minnesota through a series of interactive paintings. Highly recommended to stop by to check it out.

The Joy of Hunting

I am an avid outdoorsman and hunter. I have successfully hunted grouse, rabbit, deer, pheasant, squirrel, partridge, wild turkey, ducks, geese, and other game for close to thirty years.

I happen to be blind. I passed a firearms safety course, with a score of 100% on the written exam and successfully completed the required field exercises. When I hunt, I have a sighted helper help me aim and tell me when to shoot.

It is time to get this reviews forum going. We'll start with one of my local favorites, Matt's Bar.

Matt's is everything a neighborhood burger and beer joint should be. First, the atmosphere: aged wood paneling, red linoleum squares, gold plastic wallpaper, Stevie Wonder on the Jukebox, and a place at the bar marked with a plaque in memoriam of a regular, significantly less smoke thanks to smoking ban, a diverse crowd of blue and white collar workers, families people coming in to town for the game and the local hipsters, and unfortunately, some recenly added television screens that take us right out of the neighborhood and into world politics or some sports contest.
