1st Annual Garage Band Christmas – Tues, 12/8

Submitted by Rob on October 28, 2009 - 2:16pm.

Start the season off right with the music of Christmas as interpreted by the musicians of Spirit Garage. This is a first for us and is sure to become one of our favorite annual events! The music of Christmas holds so much sentiment for people in our culture so this is the perfect show to invite all those folks who have trouble with Sunday morning. We want everyone to experience the unique and wonderful community that we get to enjoy every week. Hear us do everything from “Angels We Have Heard” to “Blue Christmas,” all in our own “Garage Band" style. And did you hear, we will have cookies!, lots and lots of Christmas cookies!! Poets/Spoken Word Gathering - Sun. 6/29

Submitted by Rob on June 24, 2008 - 10:57am.

All poets, writers and spoken word performers. We are bringing a poetry group to Spirit Garage. The idea is to form a group of writers who will meet once or twice a month to share our writing. There is potential for some pieces to be used in worship and possibly published. If you have never written poetry or performed before don't let that stop you - Everyone is welcome! The vision for this poetry group is a writers' workshop offering support to encourage and inspire fellow writers to find their Spiritual voices. I find that writing from the heart is the best. First Gathering is Noon, Sunday, June 29, at the Loring Park Dunn Brothers. Hope to see you then. Feel free to contact me: Chad Maglich 651-428-8842

  • Location: Loring Park Dunn Brothers, 329 West 15th Street, Minneapolis 55403
  • Start: 29 Jun 2008 - 12:00pm

SG Films debut in the 48 Hour Film Project - 6/13-15

Submitted by Rob on June 6, 2008 - 12:59pm.

The Spirit Garage film production group, SG Films, will be participating in the 48 Hour Film Project in Minneapolis, June 13th-15th.

The 48 Hour Film Project is a "wild and sleepless weekend in which you and your team make a movie--write, shoot, edit and score it--in just 48 hours."

The technical crew is largely in place, but we still need acting and/or singing talent. For those with acting experience who would like to participate, please contact me, Chris Powers or Wade Barry 651-336-5898.

The film genres are randomly assigned Friday evening, so we will know what we need sometime Friday night. We expect to begin shooting Saturday morning and continue throughout the day. We may need the actors for reshoots or overdubs during post-production Saturday evening and all day Sunday.

Thanks,
Chris Powers

  • Location: Locations will vary throughout the weekend
  • Start: 13 Jun 2008 - 6:30pm
  • Stop: 15 Jun 2008 - 6:30pm
