Partner in Giving Applications 2008

Submitted by Admin2 on November 21, 2007 - 8:59am.

The time is upon us to determine the 2008 Partners in Giving for Spirit Garage. In an effort to encourage continued community support of the Spirit Garage Partners in Giving we have modified the 2008 application process. Previously we have limited the selection to two partners to make sure we could raise the necessary volunteer support for our partner organizations. This year, we will be looking for organizations that Spirit Garage has a previous history in working with and have already generated volunteer interest. By basing the process on existing volunteer support we will be able to expand our Partner Support to organizations that we already have a good relationship with, and with enough volunteer support, we will be able to increase our number of Partner Organizations. The goal of these modifications is to provide the Spirit Garage community with more opportunities to take an active role in supporting philanthropic organizations community members are passionate about.

For 2008, Partner in Giving organization applicants will need to meet the following requirements

  • The Partner in Giving organization aligns with the Spirit Garage mission and values.
  • The Partner organization has a Champion within the Spirit Garage community. The Champion is willing to serve at least one year as liaison between Spirit Garage and the Partner organization.
  • Partner in Giving organizations will help develop opportunities for Spirit Garage community members to give of their time in addition to receiving financial grant support.
  • Spirit Garage has had previous events or involvement with the organization and members of the Spirit Garage community as well were involved with the events. (If Spirit Garage has not worked with the organization previously, that organization will not be eligible during this year. However, we always want to make new relationships for organizations to be eligible the following year. To help organize an event, please contact Ryan Torma.)

To submit an organization for consideration as a 2008 Partner in Giving, please submit an application to Ryan Torma by December 10. Applications will be reviewed and grants will be allocated by the Stewardship / Partners in Giving Team during December with the 1 year term beginning January 1, 2008. If you have any questions regarding the new nomination and selection process, please contact Ryan, Melissa Johnston or any other member of the Stewardship / Partners in Giving Team.
