Reading the Manual - Last chance to jump in this offering, Sunday, Sept. 30

Submitted by Rob on September 25, 2007 - 9:51pm.

Reading the Manual is an indepth Bible Study. The goal is to help strengthen not only your personal devotion time, but also learn how to lead a Bible study for others. This is a 12 week study that includes daily devotions using Lectio Divina and weekly homework. This week we are studying the human desire to be like God.

"When the Woman saw that the tree looked like good eating and realized what she would become like God - she'd know everything! - she took and ate the fruit and then gave some to her husband, and he ate. Immediately the two of them did "see what's really going on" - saw themselves naked!" Genesis 3:6-7a.

In this world we often think we know what's going on, but in the end we find ourselves, well "naked". God clothed Adam and Eve in the Garden, and offers to dress us for eternity that begins now, "Be clothed in Christ" (Galatians 3:27), which covers all of our sins and shortcomings, teaching us to live a life of forgiveness and love. This is the perfect devotion as we seek to learn how to not only Read the Manual, but live it.

Due to the learning building on the previous weeks, this group will be closed to new members after Sunday, September 30; with the promise that another Reading the Manual Group will be offered in the New Year.
