Still 1 Team Available. . .

If you are interested in jumping in to the this year second annual Spirit Garage Fantasy Football League for Charity, contact Kris Kuehl via email k.keel@msn.com or call 612-237-9171. Questions can also be answered by Kris in person on a Sunday morning. Good luck!

The winner of the online Fantasy Football league chooses the charity or non-profit.  It is a 12 team league with an entry fee of $10.  Last year’s winner Steve Jackson chose Global Health Ministries (see below for more details).

For those people not familiar with Fantasy Football Leagues (FFLs), here is the jest of it.  FFL is a game based on the actual performance of current players in the National Football League.  A FFL player will pick his “fantasy” team by selecting a number of individual players from multiple teams in a draft format.  Then, points are awarded each week according to how the individual players perform (number of touchdowns, passes completed, etc).  The FFL players will play a different person from the fantasy league and wins and losses are recorded each. The best record and performance in the playoffs wins.

We are playing this year through NFL.com. The only cost is the $10 gift to charity which is being collected by Kris Kuehl.

2006 Charity Winner chosen by Steve Jackson: Established in 1987, Global Health Ministries (GHM) continues the healing ministry of Jesus Christ by enhancing health care programs of Lutheran churches in other countries. GHM funds approved health care projects, scholarships, support for charity patients, capital improvements, and development of appropriate technology. In addition, GHM gathers and ships useful donated health care equipment and supplies to various countries, communicates to groups and congregations the opportunities and needs of the church's overseas health care programs, recruits nurses, dentists, doctors, surgeons, and allied workers for overseas service through Lutheran mission boards, and advises mission boards, synods and other groups on health care mission issues.
