Position Available: Director of Infant/Toddler & Family Ministry at Jacob's Well

Director of Infant/Toddler & Family Ministry
Purpose: To provide vision, leadership, and programming for the nursery; and to support parents as they nurture their child's faith.
Status: TBD hours per week
Relationships:
- Reports to Director of Children's Ministries
- Works with Jacob's Well staff and teams to develop, implement and evaluate a seamless ministry for children and youth.
Responsibilities:
Nursery (The Pond) - Provide leadership and direction for the nursery (age 6 months - 3 years).
- Recruit, train, schedule, and support caregivers for Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and special events.
- Ensure that adequate number of caregivers are recruited; when necessary or appropriate, personally provide nursery care.
- Ensure that nursery caregivers have completed ministry applications including background checks.
- Create a welcoming environment for children and families. Foster a sense of community among nursery caregivers and families through hospitality, regular communication, and personal relationships. Help other understand nursery as both a ministry and cooperative.
- Develop and maintain nursery policies and procedures that assure a safe, healthy and age-appropriate environment for children.
- Purchase and maintain supplies and equiptment.
Family Ministry - Support parents in nurturing the faith of their children through resources and activities, and foster a sense of community among families of young children.
- Assist with baptism classes
- Welcome families with young children and introduce and inform about kids@ Jacob's Well.
- Help coordinate educational and fellowship opportunities for families with young children.
- Provide resources to parents to help equip them to help their children grow in faith.
Ministry Team - Recruit and lead ministry teams that helps to envision and carry out this ministry.
Staff - Participate in broader leadership of Jacob's Well.
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Develop materials (web based and paper) to help inform and promote your area of ministry to new families.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Experience
- Strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the ministry at Jacob's Well.
- Love of young children and the desire to help them grow in faith.
- Preferred 3-5 years of work experience in related field or degree in Early Childhood or Christian Education.
- Ability to recruit and lead volunteers.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work effectively in a team ministry.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
