Come and kick off a summer of PEACE in Minneapolis! Over 1000 neighbors from North Minneapolis and around our community will stand together, side-by-side on 26th Avenue, stretching across the Northside for this second annual event. We will make a collective statement that peace will prevail over violence. Time Activity 6:00pm Arrive at stage area, 26th Ave between Humboldt and Irving - Pick up your box of supplies for your block - Review instructions 6:30pm Be on your block with your supplies; communicate with other block coordinators to prepare to greet people 6:45pm - 7:30pm People will arrive; now is the time to: - Check them in; go up to anybody who doesn't have a PEACE tag around their neck yet - Get their contact information on the sign up sheet - Give them TWO chains and explain the chain linking activity beginning at 7:30pm - For those that arrive early enough (by 7:15), they can pick up trash or doorknock 7:30pm Begin organizing your block to hold hands across 26th Ave; this could take 10 minutes 7:40pm Start linking chains and lead chant after linking 7:45pm Begin moving to stage area 8:00pm - 9pm Celebration at the stage - a few speeches, spoken word, singing, and dance
