Spirit Garage Rustic Christmas Party

What:  Celebrate Christmas in a BEAUTIFUL HEATED HUGE LODGE with huge roaring fire in an old growth forest ONLY 20 miles from Minneapolis!  Invite your FAMILY & FRIENDS.   Come out for the day OR stay over night in rustic pot belly stove heated cabins.

Cost:   Overnight $40 per person / $25.00 Student / $12.00 Children under 12.
 Day Only $25 per person / $20 Student / $6.00 Children under 12.

  (Includes food (3 meals & snacks) and snowshoeing).   Additional cost item is to go cross country skiing or tubing (will get this info).

  The goal is to breakeven on this event so will lower or rebate costs the more people that we have attend.  We already have about 15 people attending the event.

Deposit:  $10 Adults&Students/ $5 Children

Capacity:   125 people for lodge / 64 for sleeping overnight

Schedule: The event includes:

 

        Saturday

   Noon      Arrival & Setup

   1:00 pm   CC Skiing/Sliding on 1 of the Best Trails in Minnesota (Ski Rental Available) at Trail Head

   3:00 pm    Lunch

   4:00 pm    Hike/Showshoeing Guided by Park Naturalist (Free Includes Snow  Shoe Rental)

   4:00 pm    Crafts - Making Own Christmas Ornament

   6:00 pm    Christmas Story

   7:00 pm    Christmas Dinner

   8:00 pm    Decorating the Tree & Secret Santa & Games

   9:00 pm    Outdoor Campfire with Christmas Caroles& Smoors.    We  stayed up  until about midnight last year out at the fire.

   8:30 am   Sunday Service

   10:00 am Packup & Leave.  Many of us plan to go to the 11:15 am service for the Zerse Family baptism.  We have the chalet until 12:00 pm if you want to stay around.

Look for Baker Near Wilderness Settlement which where we will be at and one of the Spirit Garage Signs. 

Located approximately 20 miles west of downtown Minneapolis on County Road 19 between Highway 12 and Highway 55. From Highway 12, take County Road 29 north to County Road 19 and follow 19 north to the main park entrance. Take a left on County Road 24 to get to the Near Wilderness Settlement (see map).

From Highway 55, take County Road 24 west to County Road 19, turn south and follow 19 to the main park entrance or take Highway 55 to County Road 19, turn south and follow 19 to the main entrance.  Take a left on County Road 24 to get to the Near Wilderness Settlement (see map) For Baker National Golf Course/Ski Trailhead, take County Road 24 to County Road 201, turn north on 201 and follow to the golf course entrance. What to Bring: 

* Yourself & Family & Friends.     This event is open to all.

*  Favorite Christmas Ornament to Hang on the Tree 

*  Optional: Wrapped Secret Santa Gift – Something under $5.00 (Ornament, Something Fun).   I normally go to the $ store.

*  Favorite Beverage – Pop, Beer and Wine are allowed in the Park  in  small containers.  No  hard l

*  Some Food to Share (Chips, Christmas Cookies, Favorite Christmas Dish)

*  Games, Christmas CDs, Stories 

*   NO PETS.   This is for the safety of the animals who live in the park.

*   Bed Clothes or Sleeping Bag for Rustic Cabin

*   Skis or Snowshoes if you have them.   Rent CC skis (will cost rental fee)  / Snowshoes are available for FREE!!!!

Hey all.  I am planning on coming back and will be attending the SIA event at the lodge with Melissa.  However, we won't be bringing any lefse this year. Hope all is well in MSP and you are all doing great.
