Jennifer P of the Eco-Stewardship group received this note from the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy.  

There’s plenty of doom and gloom in the news right now: Gas prices are chugging toward $4.00 a gallon; obesity rates continue to expand; commuters are wasting time each day in traffic gridlock, every gallon of oil burned contributing to global climate change.

But if you’re looking for a fun, healthy way to thumb your nose at these troubling trends, this Friday, May 16, is National Bike-to-Work Day, is . It’s a perfect opportunity to saddle up on a bicycle for a two-wheeled commute—and enjoy the many rewards of an active trip into the office!

If you can swing it, commuting by foot, bicycle or public transportation is a good idea every day.
