Youth is by nature a time of rebellion. Rather than trying to squelch the rebellion, why not enlist them to join the cause of the greatest rebel of all time - Jesus Christ. Quevelle

So much has been written about this Jewish rebel by so many in so different contexts. I found, how Bernard Shaw description of the activities of this Bethlehem rebel quite refreshing in many ways. Wrote Shaw this commentary on Jesus in the prefarce to his play “On the Rocks”:

3rd Annual Spirit Garage Fantasy Football League for Charity - No experience necessary! This is an automatic draft league that also has a "Best Line Up" option available. It couldn't be any easier.

The winner of the Fantasy Football league chooses the charity or non-profit of it's choice.  Entry fee of $10.

For those people not familiar with Fantasy Football Leagues (FFLs), here is the jest of it.  FFL is a game based on the actual performance of current players in the National Football League.  A FFL player will pick his “fantasy” team by selecting a number of individual players from multiple teams in a draft format.  Then, points are awarded each week according to how the individual players perform (number of touchdowns, passes completed, etc).  The FFL players will play a different person from the fantasy league and wins and losses are recorded each. The best record and performance in the playoffs wins.

Tumbling pioneers in the revolution of Love, The Brothers Frantzich (fran-zik) cast the true image of brothers in harmony up toward the transcendent image of peaceful harmony between cultures and religions. Their hearts, music and style bridge the gap between the thrill and sensuality of Saturday night and the sacred hours of Sunday morning. Their audience is vastly diverse and spans two continents. They appear as guests on NPR’s A Prairie Home Companion. They sing in prisons, churches, center ice before NHL games, clubs and theaters of the mid-west and United Kingdom, and many workshops and conferences nationally with some of the finest poets and teachers in the world.

Who doesn't like a hot coffee or juice, donuts or a piece of fruit when you arrive for worship on Sunday Morning with Spirit Garage. A big thank you to all of our hosting captains past and present: Danelle, Lisa, Dan, Virginia, Rod, and Chad.

A great way to thank them for their service is to bring a treat and offer a hand this Sunday, September 28. And we have made signing up easy - thank you Bo, Arie, Sean, and Tom!

There are lots of mysteries in faith; some unbelievable and others sadly true. At Spirit Garage our door is big enough to ask the weird and hard mysteries of faith. Join us this month as we talk about four of them:

Sept. 7 - Drink Blood and Eat Flesh - What?! (Passover, Communion, and a Baptism)

Sept. 14 - Why do bad things happen to good people?

Join us from 12:15-1:15 PM following worship this Sunday, September 28 at the Dunn Brothers on 15th Street across from Loring Park. Feel free to come and check it out.  If you like what you hear at the Coffee Talk, the next step is a Dinner Conversation to be determined by those attending the Coffee Talks.
