SGU Movie Night at Brits Gathering Event

Monday August 7 we will be meeting at Brits for their Monday night movie. This week they will be showing Wallace and Gromit. Bring your friends and you blanket - grab a  spot on the lawn and enjoy an evening of fun and camaraderie. The movie starts at dusk.

Stewardship and Partners in Giving Meeting

Habitat for Humanity & Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity
Start: 8:30 am
End: 4:30 pm

We have the opportunity to be involved in building two homes with Habitat for Humanity this year.  This is a great way for us to live our core value of Compassionate Community!  Friday, August 11 we need 15 volunteers to work on a home at 920 Jackson Street in St. Paul, plus 4 volunteers to bring food to the site for breakfast and lunch.  Thursday, August 17 we need 6 volunteers to work on a home in Minneapolis (address TBD).  To sign up for the August 11th date, contact Jen Vickerman at jenvickerman@gmail.com. Funeral for Annie Quick - Tues. 8/15

In sad news, Annie Quick (Steve Quick's mother) passed away last week. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, August 15th at 11:00 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1390 Larpentuer Ave. Saint Paul.

Identity Crisis Plays at Metrodome Tonight

Spirit in Action to attend Twins Game Wednesday, August 16

Join Spirit in Action at Lutheran Night at the Twins on Wednesday, August 16 at 7 p.m. as the Twins take on the Cleveland Indians.  Upper Level Gen. Admission tickets are $5, Upper Club Reserved tickets are $13, & Lower Level Reserved tickets are $18.  $1 of every ticket goes to Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity, an initiative that is building 33 homes for Minnesota families

Three on the Tree Plays at the Bandshell – Sun. 8/20

Belonging Dinner - 8/28 (Date Change)

The Belonging Group dinner will be held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, Aug., 28th, Location is the Torma house, 3721 18th Ave S. Minneapolis.  Dinner will be provided. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.

SIA Fantasy Football for Charity

Summer is drawing to an end and that can only mean one thing.  Football season!  Spirit in Action is pleased to announce the first annual Spirit Garage Fantasy Football League for Charity.  We will be hosting an online Fantasy Football league with all money collected from entry fees being donated to the charity or non-profit of the winner’s choice.  We are looking to have 10-12 entries with an entry fee of $10 per entry (but are more than willing to create another league if the interest is there).
