Theology Pub chats about sports, athletic discipline, and God

Kris is an Olympic hopeful training in discus throwing, and has dedicated a lot of her energy to developing her God-given athletic talent. Do you like to compete or play sports? Focus on Finances Workshop
Start: 1:00 pm
End: 2:30 pm

Make a great investment, your time for 1 hour, to Focus on Finances. This will include cash, risk management, investments, tax and estate planning, college planning, dollar cost averaging, and retirement distribution. If you don't understand some or all of these, this workshop is for you. There will be no sales. Rob Wagner, member of Spirit Garage's Stewardship Team, and Thrivent Financial Representative is sharing his time and expertise with us. The workshop applies to people ages 25-90. Spirit Garage - Spirit in Action Ski Event - Buck Hill March 4th

Holy-Mid-Week-Shot-In-The-Arm - Tues. 3/7-4/11
Start: 8:00 pm

Come by for a holy booster shot during Lent to our mid-week lent services.  This is a much more mellow service with plenty of music, meditation, and lectio divina (meditative scripture reading). We will meet Tuesday nights at 8:00 PM from March 16th through April 11th. We will meet at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 4100 Lyndale Ave. S. Minneapolis.

Boardgames at Ben's House -- 3/10
Start: 7:30 pm
End: 11:00 pm

So how do you live in love and community in a "zero-sum" world? I don't have all the answers but I think you start by showing up and learning to love the journey rather than the outcome. Boardgames are a great example of an activity where the fun is in the journey rather than just final score.

Friday March 10, I'm opening my house for an evening to encourage people to get together and have some fun in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. If you can't make it this month, I'm planning to do it again in May and June and July... Well you get the idea. If you're interested in participating drop in  when you can. There is no commitment. (Although an RSVP is helpful.) Come when and as you are inclined.
