Youth of Spirit Garage Unite - 5/18

Submitted by Rob on April 16, 2008 - 1:31pm.

Wow. After I prayed through the list of Spirit Garage members I went back to count all the students between 6th-12th grade - there are over a dozen! So we always talk about making the Really Big Door Bigger, that's why we started Children's Ministry; but there needs to be a Bigger door for all of you. I hope you'll join me on Sunday, May 18. Come for worship and then stick around for lunch. Your first group decision will be where to eat. Would love to hear from everyone to find out whether or not you're able to join us.

Yours in Christ, Rob

All Hands On Deck Leaders Meeting - 5/13

Submitted by Rob on April 16, 2008 - 1:42pm.

Spirit Garage members will be gathering for some neighborhood house parties in June and July to assess and discern our next steps as a community. With recent staff changes which include Ryan Torma, former Community Life Minister taking a full-time Seminary position and Amy Santoriello, current Children's Minister and 2008 Seminary Graduate seeking full-time employment, Spirit Garage has some important decisions to make. We look forward to hearing from everyone who considers themselves are a part of Spirit Garage. To do this we need a number of hosts and facilitators for these gatherings. Prayerfully consider opening your home or sharing your leadership. To know more, join us for the leaders meeting at Bethlehem on Tuesday, May 13 from 7-9 PM. Powderhorn May Day Festival - 5/4

Submitted by Rob on April 16, 2008 - 1:55pm.

Days are growing longer, temperatures are rising, and buds are swelling full. And inside an old movie theater on Lake Street the creation that will be the 34th MayDay Parade is starting to form anew.

In a truly amazing act of community art-making, the story will take root and grow as hundreds of people from all walks of life come together, creating the glorious floats, banners, and masks for this year’s Parade and Ceremony. Come for the Parade and Festivities, volunteer at the Spirit Garage Booth or help build the Life Size Puppets at one of the Workshops. Parade begins at 1 PM (starting at 25th Street East traveling south down Bloomington Avenenue) and the Closing Ceremony is at 3 PM in Powderhorn Park (15th Ave & 35th Street East).

Help build MayDay 2008: A New Bridge - Infrastructure for the New Beings. Workshop Dates are from April 5 - May 1, with a variety of times. Follow link or call 612-721-2535 for more info.

Spirit Garage will have an information table at the event. (Location to be determined). To help at our table contact Spirit Garage Member and long time May Day Participant Char Moore Sneve 651-276-2528
