About: Mission and Values
Spirit Garage Mission Statement
By the same grace that Jesus has given you, seek to love God with all of your spirit, mind and body and to share God's love with all people.
Authentic Relationship
Real life, real help. Get it. Give it. Live it.
What we do at Spirit Garage is to strive to be relevant to you and to real life in the world of today, whether it be worship, fun activities, or service opportunities. What you find at Spirit Garage will be real. Gatherings at Spirit Garage are genuine. Come as you are. Take them at your own pace. At worship you'll find cool music, and a message that is more like a conversation than a sermon. We connect with others in small groups as varied as we are. Come find help for your real life, and opportunities to volunteer to help your neighbors, your community, and your world in ways that are truly relevant. God wants you for who you are and so does the Spirit Garage community.
Compassionate Community
God calls us into community to live out the love of Christ.
The Spirit Garage community starts by letting God's love care for us, and then proceeds to let that love shine out to others and God's creation. Jesus chose to live the life of a servant. He washed the feet of his disciples, provided care and healing to the sick, and gave mercy to everyone. We are called to follow in his footsteps. We have opportunities all around us—people at church, in our neighborhoods, and throughout the world.
Big Door
Servicing all makes and models—shiny and new, rusty and broken.
At Spirit Garage, we hold open the big door of God's love and create a space where everyone is welcomed. By opening the door and inviting people in, we believe that people can experience strength and restoration in God's arms. Christ spent his time with all types of people sharing God's unconditional love and grace. We continue to welcome all as Christ did and encourage each other to share this love on our journeys back out into the world.
God Gifted
God has given everyone gifts to use for the benefit of the community and the world.
God has given each of us unique gifts. Putting your passion in action is what fuels the culture of Spirit Garage and the culture in which we live. Some grow in their art, others stir the discussion, and others work behind the scenes. Spirit Garage is a place to explore, grow, and use our gifts. It is through this use that Spirit Garage's mission is realized and God can be seen working through us.
Grassroots Ministry
With God, we all get a chance to be involved.
Spirit Garage is a community of faith and in this community every person contributes to the health of the whole. Everyone who is a member of the community helps to lead and guide the community. However, we all do it in different ways. Some people lead by organizing small groups, and some people lead by speaking quietly and reminding others to listen. You don't have to wait for someone else to do God's work in the community. You can be the one to champion a change. Gather a few passionate individuals, and we will provide you with the tools and support to help you on your way.
